About Karen Woods, MS, CNM, C-EFM
Midwife/Case Ally
I am a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with nearly two decades of experience in high-risk obstetrics. My current career path includes serving as the Director of Midwifery Services for a large medical group while actively providing clinical care and attending births.
As a Certified in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) professional, I bring objective, evidence-based insight to attorneys handling obstetric malpractice and birth injury cases. My dual perspective as a practicing midwife and expert witness allows me to bridge the clinical and legal worlds with clarity and precision.
Credentials & Expertise
Clinical Leadership — Leading a team of midwives across multiple hospital sites, while ensuring safe and evidence-based care for high-risk patients, is my number one objective.
Electronic Fetal Monitoring Expertise — Certified in EFM (C-EFM), I specialize in interpreting fetal heart tracings, recognizing subtle changes, and evaluating communication and documentation in complex cases.
Expert Witness & Case Support — Providing attorneys with objective case review, expert reports, and testimony in obstetric malpractice and birth injury litigation is my primary mission.
